FAQ. selling ebooks - pdf files on webs.com
If i am selling an e-book, once the purchaser has paid, how will he get
the pdf file automatically?(or, e-book electronically without me having
to e-mail the pdf after payment notification reciept)

We don't offer this service at this time, although it has been suggested before.
You can set it up so that the confirmation page contains a link to your eBook. To do that, first upload the PDF file into the File Manager.
When you make the confirmation page, use the LINK button to create the link to your pdf files. Just make a regular page for this, and in Page Options, hide that page from your navbar.
After you have created that page, edit the settings in your webstore to select the confirmation page. -
Thank you Caroline, ive managed the confiramtion page & created the link to the required pdf files. How do i go about editting the settings in my webstore to the select the confiramation page? thank you

Hi
I want to sell an e-book through my webs site.
I have already had one answer to this query, but did not understand what I need to do.
Can someone give me a step-by-step guide, imagine that I am ten years old and have no knowledge of the issue.
Regards
Mike

Can I sell downloadable contents in the website?
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
Can I sell downloadable contents in the webstore?. -
EMPLOYEEI’m happyAndrew,
The video uploads are given in limits of time. If your 500 MB video file is within your package limits then the file can be downloaded from your site. FYI Members who download this type of material would use up a VERY large amount of your monthly Bandwidth. If you're going to do this, I would definitely recommend purchasing additional bandwidth so that you do not easily exceed your monthly quota.
You can create a page, add a content box, click "links", then click "my files", to link your file to your site. Just refer to the above instructions. The customer simply clicks on the file and they will be able to open it from their computer. Hope that helps!
More about uploading...

The part about the video given with limit of time, I still don't quite understand. Wasn't it consider as data transfer through bandwidth? Why should a timing set for the video? Also I will be zipping up the video so it will be consider as data then video right?
Thanks for your advice on additional bandwidth. i will pay extra attention on that!
I will test out the above instructions and adding a paypal widget. If I can work through the pipeline. I will subscript a professional package next week!
Thanks again Dom, you are very helpful!
Rgds,

EMPLOYEEI’m confidentAndrew it's no problem :-). To clarify, the timing for videos is in reference to the Video gallery uploads. I apologize for the confusion. It IS considered data if you're just uploading the file. As I stated before, the file should upload without issue as long as it is within the file size limit. Glad to be of assistance! Let us know if you need additional help once you have purchased your Pro Package!!
Good Day,
Dom

How To Write A Book By: Brian Tracy
- Start with a message, idea, story that you really want to share with other people.
- You must be an expert on your subject. You must know 10 words for every word you write. If you write on success, you must already be successful. If you write on money, you must already be rich. If you write on relationships, you must already be happily married.
- Define your target market, exactly who are you writing this book for?
- Make sure that your market is large enough, containing 100,000 to 1,000,000 potential book buyers.
- Buy, read, find out everything you can about other authors, books or articles dealing with the same subject. Make sure your material is different and better in at least three ways.
- Gather all the information that you will need to write your book. Do your research and homework before you start to write.
- Organize your material into seven, ten, twelve or twenty-one chapters, each following in a logical order, from beginning to end.
- Write out every key point in each chapter on a legal sized writing pad.
- Organize your points from #1 through to the closing part of the chapter. Do this for every chapter until you have a separate “down dump” of all the key ideas.
- Begin with Chapter 1 and dictate the book in the order of material you have chosen.
- Once you have dictated the entire book, have a typist type it out and give it back to you by email or disc for your computer.
- Set up a work schedule with blocks of time of two, three or four hours. Discipline yourself to sit at the keyboard and edit during this time.
- Edit the entire book from front to back the first time. Correct the grammar and typing errors. Create the necessary paragraphs. This is the longest, hardest job of editing in the whole book.
- Write an Introduction, a Preface and Acknowledgements if necessary.
- In your second edit, break up the text with a heading every 2, 3, 4 paragraphs. Make it “bite-sized” and easy to read.
- In your third edit, place a quote at the beginning of each chapter. Create three, five or seven action steps at the end of each chapter if it is a self-help or educational book.
- In your fourth edit, which will take much less time, polish the sentences, delete unnecessary material, make final corrections.
- In your fifth and final edit, completely reread the entire book from cover to cover. This takes the least amount of time of all.
- The entire process above requires 50-100 hours of work, once you have gathered all your material.
- Always play gentle classical music in the background. Best of all, get headphones and listen to classical music while you work. Music makes you more alert, creative and fluent.
